Sewing Ephemera

Who doesn't love a little sewing ephemera for adding a romantic touch to a junk journal? It's great for giving a vintage feel with a touch of high fashion and a hint of Paris. In addition to the ephemera itself, I will show you some resources for finding more of the same.

Perhaps no other image is more iconic in the dressmaking realm than a dummy or dress form. Here are two, both partly covered. This item is a page from a book about sewing. Click on the image to download it.  Follow this link to see the book it came from.

Here are three examples of vintage patterns.  The first two are from this book and the last is from this book

No set of sewing images is complete without an image of a sewing machine! This lovely piece of ephemera is the title page of a book on the history of the sewing machine. Click on the image to download it. Click here to find the rest of the book.

Lastly, for a little high fashion without the process, here is a set of bodices set up as though on mannequins. This image is from the same source as the first image of dress forms.  Click on the image to download it.
